Yes! You Should have Invested in Weed Companies

It's no secret that Cannabis is going to be the next big industry in Canada since it's going to be legalized later this year. The reason why you're here is because you're wondering whether or not you should have invested (or should invest) in a Cannabis company. The short answer is YES!
However, even though it is the next big industry, it doesn't guarantee that you'll be making money from that investment.

I sometime hear people say that if they could go back in time they would invest in Microsoft, Facebook, Apple... It's easy for us to say these things today because of how successful all those companies are. The truth is, when they first started, nobody could predict how big those companies would become and many failed.

The same is true today with, the soon to be legalized industry of, Cannabis. There are many companies looking to hit the market hard but only a handful will succeed - and only one will be at the top. That is the risk that you need to mitigate.

Things for you to keep in mind:
  • Rule 1 of Investing: Never invest money that you need to live. This is not the time for you to refinance your house or buy stocks with money you should be paying your bills with.
  • It may be too late for you. Stocks will go higher in price the closer to the legalization date. The best time to invest was when the Prime Minister originally announce the plan to legalize it. You are loosing potential profit for each additional day you are waiting.
  • Seek professional advice.
  • Don't go in thinking you can beat the market.
  • Do you research on each Cannabis companies and pick the one that make the most sense to you. Some things you may want to include in your research are:
    • Look at who's leading the company. Has he lead any other companies successfully? Does he know the industry?
    • Look at their plans for the next 5 years. Do they have any partners?
    • Look at the type product they're making and their marketing plan.
    • Look at the amount of money they currently have invested in the company.
    • Look at the amount of money they have saved up.

Great Minds Shaped Us

Society has progressed considerably ever since mankind's ability to save their thoughts on paper but there are people from history that stands out for pushing the boundaries unexpectedly further than it logically perhaps should.

Where would we be without the philosophical foundation left by Socrates, or Newton's formula for the rotation of planets around our sun, or the theory of relativity left behind by Einstein?

Isaac Newton's equations, for example, helped put man on the moon in 1969 - almost 250 years after he passed away. Without him, maybe man would still be looking at the moon without knowing that it is possible to go there.
Looking back, we can easily see that Newton's equation was found before its time. That his influence pushed humanity forward significantly and that it took 250 years, of accumulated knowledge, to use his equations to the fullest of its potential.

One has to wonder how can we produce more of those great minds. I think we can all agree that the education available today, while not perfect, is better than at the time of Isaac Newton. Therefor, education alone isn't solely responsible for the creation of great minds. What is? Is it possible to create a systematic way of harvesting great minds: With each generation significantly pushing our understandings vs only challenging what's already in place?

Age Doesn't Always Equal Wisdom

"Wisdom is the one thing that makes growing old worth it."
-Jiraiya

Age doesn't always equal wisdom. If you do not actively work on yourself, every day, most of your thinking will be the same in 5 years as it is today - only then you will have grayer hair.

“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!”
-Benjamin Franklin

In today's information age, it is not okay to fall behind with your education. Have a plan that is in alignment with your life's mission and make the next 5 years count. Education should only end the day that you do; it's a life long assignment.

"In youth we learn; in age we understand."
-Marie Von Ebner-Eschenbach

Discipline is an accumulation of small actions.
Discipline is to follow-through on the promises you've made to yourself.
Discipline is waking up when your alarm goes off.
Discipline is saying no to the good in order to achieve the great.

Discipline requires attention.
Discipline requires time.
Discipline requires effort.
Discipline requires sacrifice.

Success requires discipline. Make Discipline an habit.
